Emily is a Professional Organizer with over 20 years experience organizing. As you can imagine, over 20 years working with clients, she has worked on projects large and small, complicated and simple. Every client is different, from their career, personality, tendencies, and spacial situations. With a penchant for creative problem solving, Emily has found solutions for her clients that help them be more organized, saving them time and money and reducing stress.

With a background as an artist, her passion for organizing is intertwined with a verve for a balanced composition and creating solutions that are “outside the box.” Emily’s desire and drive to organize began at a very young age, when moving furniture throughout the house, organizing the pantry, turning a closet into a beauty salon were her idea of fun and fulfillment. Entering her 20’s she was setting up people’s homes and organizing as favors for friends. Emily would frequently think of her grandmother’s wise words of advise, “Do what you LOVE!” when thinking of as career path. In 1997, while attending The University of Texas in pursuit of her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, Emily crossed paths with a local Austin organizer who ended up being her mentor and employer through the college days and beyond.

Beginning in 2004, Emily spent several years organizing in San Diego, California on large projects with a network of other organizers. This opportunity exposed her to such a variety of organizational challenges, and an education from the organizers she surrounded herself with. This is when and where Emily began defining her own organizing philosophy.

Emily believes in understanding her clients’ as much as possible before proceeding with an organizational plan. A “cookie-cutter” plan is not right for everyone and can be upsetting or jarring to some clients. While there is absolutely a method utilized, first Emily investigates enough to decide the course of action, client involvement, and the timeline.

Emily also utilizes and depends on the skills of others as needed. She often works in tandem with Interior Designers, Closet Designers, Contractors, Handy-Men (or Women,) Movers, and many other skilled professionals in order to do the job right.

Emily Young is dedicated to creating order, tackling disarray, and making her clients happy and their spaces organized.
